2 Rutgers University students recently contracted Meningitis B infections. Preventing Meningitis B through vaccination is a current reality however, healthcare providers may need to be more proactive and encourage patients in this age group to come into their office for the 2 or 3 dose series as required.
Most physicians and their staff understand there are two distinctly different Meningitis vaccines available today. MCV4 which covers A, C, Y and W135 ( Menactra & Menveo ) and another vaccine MenB, that covers B ( Trumenba & Bexsero ).
